A multilevel investigation of antecedents and consequences of team member boundary-spanning behavior
Article Abstract:
A multilevel model that was developed to test team boundary spanning that helped to investigate and understand a potential resolution of the paradox is presented. It was seen that individual and team level factors predict member boundary-spanning behavior in which an individual's role overload is increased that impacts his team viability negatively.

Superior performance results from flexible structures such as familiarity and formal interventions by members in decision-making groups. However, formal interventions in familiar groups are unlikely to produce the same results.
