Kudu/Oranjemund
Article Abstract:
The Namibian company Nampower plans to build a 750-megawatt gas-fuelled power station at Oranjemund, which would bring the country to self-sufficiency in 2002. This US$ 500mn power station would be supplied by the Kudu gas field, which could also supply a power station in South Africa through a gas pipeline by the year 2004. The principal shareholders of the Namibian power station will be Nampower with 44%, Shell with 19%, and Eskom with 15%.
