A simple minimum-bias percentile estimator of the location parameter for the Gamma, Weibull, and log-normal distributions

Article Abstract:

A comparative experiment that reviews the simple percentile estimators of location parameters three-paramenter gamma, log-normal and Weibull distributions is conducted. The minimum-bias percentile (MBP) is found to be constant for the log-normal distributions, a function for Weibull distributions and gamma populations. This indicates that the MBP estimator is a more reliable estimator with a smaller mean bias and root mean square error than the gamma and Weibull distributions.

Galls are growths on plants that occur when plant cells reproduce rapidly n response to some outside catalyst, usually an insect. Oak trees are especially likely to have the usually benign galls, due to the number of insects that can populate the various types of oak around the world. Depending on the plant and the insect, galls can take numerous forms, and have been used by people for everything from medicine to ink.
