The reason's behind the fall in the share price of Australian Gas Light's (AGL) since its plan to join a consortium prepared to pay $3.5 billion for VictoriaEs Loy Yang power station, and why it may continue falling are investigated. Investors have reacted to this by marking down AGL's share price largely because they fear history is repeating itself.

Foodland falters

Foodland's growth strategy is being questioned as it is facing competition from Coles Myer, Woolsworths and the German retailer Aldi. Foodland has been hit by unexpected crticism, one of them was when the investors marked its share price down 5 percent after it announced lower-than-expected profit growth for the six months to December 31, 2004.
