Article Abstract:
A panel of scientists brought together under the auspices of the Wistar Institute concluded on Oct 21, 1992, that the theory that AIDS originated from contaminated polio vaccines was false. The theory had been published in the Mar 19, 1992, issue of 'Rolling Stone' magazine.

Ninth conference held in Berlin
Article Abstract:
Over 14,000 people participated in the Ninth International Conference on AIDS on Jun 7-11, 1993, in Berlin, Germany. The participants appeared to be pessimistic about the possibility of a cure and about the spread of AIDS in developing countries and among heterosexuals.

Simian vaccine tested

Researchers have vaccinated monkeys against the simian immunodeficiency virus, which is related to HIV in humans. Some researchers believe that one vaccine will not protect humans against all forms of the AIDS virus.
