ALS support for GP projects
Article Abstract:
General medical practitioners in London, England, were offered the opportunity to participate in a mid-career break scheme funded through the London Implementation Zone Education Initiative. The scheme included two interventions: 'Take a Break' and 'Time for a Change.' Participants in both interventions were offered two types of support: membership of an action learning set (ALS) and supervisory support for a project. It was established that a well-supported individual project can strengthen the learning from an ALS. It is important to create synergy between the action learning process and the project choice.
