Sony and Nintendo battle for kids under 13

The game wars are about to begin: Sony will spend $140 million to target the under-12 age group that Nintendo dominates; Nintendo will spend $12 million on one title alone, "Legend of Zelda: the Ocarina of Time." Nintendo is also putting a lot of stock in a new Gameboy title, "Pokemon," that was a big hit when test marketed in Japan. Both firms are tying their campaigns to toy makers and fast-food chains as enhancements to the promotions.

Companies are designing World Wide Web sites to market their products and services, and while the sites are improving quickly, they are not perfect yet. Internet retailers are improving their sites daily. The technology is becoming more advanced; higher resolution moniters and quicker download capability are making online product display more advanced and effective. The Web sites are attempting to catch up tot he technology.
