InfoComp, a New South Wales company, spotted industry trends and began to shift its business from consultancy to software development with industry partners. In 1994, InfoComp noticed a lack of membership management software and developed Unison for a workers' union. In 1994, InfoComp began work without an industry partner on Mentor, a portfolio management software system. Since beginning software development, InfoComp grew 697% between 1994 and 1998. Its 1998 turnover was $4.2 million.
