An Experiment in Futility
Article Abstract:
Accounting methods are examined to take inflation into consideration. Attempts have been made by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) to set a standard for inflation accounting. Revisions of the FASB's experimental standards are presented. Inflation accounting is more of a problem to larger companies, but smaller firms may feel some pressure. The pros and cons of the FASB approach are examined.
