An analysis of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) benefits using Alternating Conditional Expectation (ACE)
Article Abstract:
Analysis of information gleaned from a survey mailed to approximately 740 Singapore manufacturers will enable Material Requirements Planning (MRP) managers to determine what benefits can come through the use of MRP and which benefits are appropriate to their company's objectives. Although many manufacturers use MRP systems in their operations, they now are able to fully identify the benefits that come from MRP and the technological, organizational and implementational variables that inhibit or enhance the benefits.

A comparison of resource allocation and activity scheduling rules in a dynamic multi-project environment
Article Abstract:
Resource allocation decisions determine the allocation of resources among various projects in order to give necessary resources to the most critical projects. This study examines the relative results of using four basic resource allocation priority rules and six resource transfer rules in conjunction with two activity scheduling rules. The framework for the analysis is a dual-level management situation that includes one central resource pool manager and a team of project managers.

The effect of workload control (WLC) on performance in make-to-order companies
Article Abstract:
Implementation of workload control (WLC) concept, a set of production and planning control strategies, proves to be useful in enhancing the productiveness of make-to-order (MTO) companies. Utilization of a simulation model revealed that WLC reduces the manufacturing lead times of MTO companies. Such effect can be achieved if marketing and operations functions of MTO companies are unified.
