Application Software Packages Announced for Worksaver
Article Abstract:
A new operating system, UCSD p-System, was announced by Parameter Driven Software Northwest Inc. of Beaverton, Oregon. Also announced was the Medallion Collection of accounting and accounting productivity packages that work on the Convergent PC-Worksaver word processing system. The Convergent Series is being marketed by Burroughs and the Convergent OEM network. Packages are designed to be user friendly and modular so that small businesses can grow into them. Documentation is written with the first time user in mind. Prices range from $395 to $895 per package.

Office Systems to Introduce WorkSaver 300
Article Abstract:
NCR's new WorkSaver 300 Series workstations is based on Convergent Technologies' N-GEN workstation. It runs the CTOS real-time, multi-tasking, multi-partitioning operating system. It also provides the base for popular operating systems like CP-M 86 and MS-DOS. It is based upon Intel's 16-bit iAPX 80186 microprocessor, which runs at 8MHz. It has a maximum memory of 1024K RAM. The 300 Series systems can operate as standalone systems or in a local-area network.
