Article Abstract:
Formatting features that should be included in the best word processing program are presented. Margin settings and justification should be adjustable without accessing the menu. Indentation by function key is preferable. Emphasis through 'shadow', 'overstrike' or 'bold' print, pagination with a 'block text' facility and page numbering are desirable as are the automatic decimal alignment of columns and insertion of multi-line headings and footings. An evaluation chart listing the formatting features is included for the potential buyer.
