Jackson for this role in "Shaft," the designer has pulled out the stops, marketing the look with "Shaft"-inspired clothing sold in Emporio Armani and featuring Mr. Jackson at Milan fashion shows. Paramount Pictures loves the high-profile product placement as they portray the new Shaft as a man of chic. Mr. Armani is also dressing Ricky Martin and Lauryn Hill, among other celebrities as he decides whether to sell his fashion empire. Armani publicist Linda Gaunt is preparing to cloth more actors in the movie, "Bounce".

Banana Republic is committed to setting its own trends, which was evidenced by its featuring suede last winter and is now featuring khaki, but calling it chino, while others have turned to spring colors. One television commercial shows the ad's location as Chino, California. The chain has been owned by Gap Inc. since 1983 when Banana Republic was known for the safari look in fashions.
