Asia crisis looms over Singapore banks

The Singapore banking industry, renowned for being a safe haven for capital in Asia, is being adversely affected by the economic crisis gripping the region. Moody's Investors Services reduced the ratings of all six Singapore banks, though it did concede that they were among the strongest in Asia. The six banks are Development Bank of Singapore Ltd., Keppel Bank Ltd., Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation Ltd., Overseas Union Bank Ltd., Tat Lee Bank Ltd. and United Overseas Bank Ltd.
