Article Abstract:
BMW Australia is catering to the rich buyers in the prestige automobile market with the introduction of two new coupes in its 3-Series range. The 323Ci sells for $73,900 and the 328Ci is $93,300. Standard features on the six-cylinder automobiles include eight airbags, automatic stability, and full leather. BMW's targeting of the rich segment has increased sales in that niche market from 7270 in 1994 to 9318 in 1998. However, the goods and services tax may dramatically affect sales and production.
