Article Abstract:
The Australian Tax Office (ATO) exposed the internal restructuring arrangement of big Australian organizations, which sold overseas subsidiaries, to evade paying capital gains tax (CGT) or create capital losses. The flaws in the CGT schemes are examined. ATO is employing Part IVA of the Tax Act to deal with CGT compliance.

In a search warrant issued by Australian Crime Commission (ACC) in relation with Commonwealth Crimes Act, as a part of huge tax-scheme investigation, a director of a listed biotechnology company Novogen, Dr. Grahman Kelly was named. Many more names are expected to come to light.
