Benchmarking background of forecasters

Article Abstract:

An Institute of Business Forecasting & Planning survey in 2007 revealed the academic and business background of progfessional forecasters in the United States. FIndings show that 48% of the respo ndents majored in business and 32% had a backgroubnd in the fields of production, distribution and logistics. The lack of forecasters with background in statistics and mathematics is also examined.
