Lachlan Murdoch's resignation from News Corporation has raised speculations on the succession planning of Rupert Murdoch's empire. There are suggestions that family differences are the cause of this step from the junior. However, it could also be that junior Murdoch is leaving for Australia because of change in the cross-media regulations there and this resignation may be part of a larger business plan, which will be unfolded by the family in due course.
