Book-build may embrace all
Article Abstract:
The disparity of prices between retail and institutional investors in bidding for desirable stock floats may be coming to an end with the use of book-building. For example, retail investors paid a fixed $1.05 share for Reckon Ltd., and institutions bid through a book-build process that produced a price of $1.15. There is already a preliminary model in the float of Austar United Communications, where underwriters told retail investors the price would be available when the book-build was completed.

Queenslanders look ready to pick up the TAB
Article Abstract:
TAB Queensland's (TABQ) share offering will probably be successful, despite lowered interest in Australian gaming stocks and other factors. A 5.1% dividend is expected to ensure the offering's success. The offering consists of 130.8 million shares, and investors must purchase at least 700 shares. Share allocations could be scaled back, however, if demand for the shares is high.
