Bristol-Myers stops work on cancer drug
Article Abstract:
Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. announced it is not going forward with angiostatin, the cancer drug the company licensed from EntreMed Inc. and the research scientist who discovered it, Dr. Judah Folkman. The company says its reason for stopping development of the drug that keeps blood from feeding cancerous tumors is that it will take years to get it to the stage where it is ready for human trials. It has other research projects that it feels will bring faster results and that is where the company has decided to place its emphasis.
