British budget plans future tax increases

UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Norman Lamont announced that the budget for FY 1993-94 would include dramatic tax increases, which would be deferred until 1994-95. The budget deficit for 1993-94 would total 50.1 billion pounds sterling.

Budget deficit forecast revised upward

Australia raised its budget deficit forecast for FY 1994-95 from A$11.7 billion to A$12.3 billion. It also increased its current account deficit forecast from A$18 billion to A$26 billion.
