Business: General Motors sets EDS split-off

General Motors awaits approval from shareholders and the IRS for the split-off of EDS. The computer service arm is rapidly expanding in the areas of outsourcing and computer system consulting. Ross Perot founded the firm in 1962, and GM bought it 1984 for $2.5 bil. The stock split is discussed.

Amman economic summit sets further regional ties
Article Abstract:
The second major Middle East and North African economic summit was held from Oct 29-31, 1995, in Amman, Jordan. Normalization with Israel was one of the most controversial topics. A US-plan to establish a development bank was approved and Israel agreed to buy natural gas from Qatar.
