Sugar: It May Have Had Its Lumps
Article Abstract:
The price of sugar has been rising in mid-1983, following a dramatic price slump in early 1983. The slump had been largely due to sugar production exceeding demand. In 1984, weather problems are expected to greatly reduce sugar yields. However, some analysts fear the expected lower yields have already affected sugar prices. Some analysts believe sugar prices will remain stable in 1984, while others expect to see them rise even higher.
