CDI Systems
Article Abstract:
ABB Environmental Service Co. has successfully converted its accounting software system through its implementation of products being offered by Concepts Dynamic Inc. (CDI). The decision to make the transition came about after management realized that its old mainframe system is becoming harder to maintain and is undermining corporate growth. After several vendors were evaluated, ABB management finally settled with CDI Project Control System because it met the functional requirements of ABB for project-oriented operations. During the implementation of the system, ABB and CDI developed a close relationship. This compelled ABB to turn to CDI when the time came for other systems, such as the CDI Credit Management and the CDI General Ledger. As a result, the ABB staff no longer has to encode information manually and can easily access information needed for reports.

Deltek: Costpoint for project accounting
Article Abstract:
Deltek Systems co-founder Ken deLaski claims that its expertise in project accounting is what sets his company apart from other software firms. His company, which he established in 1983 with his accountant father Don, was initially involved in the manufacture of government contractor computer programs. It has since expanded into other areas, including client/server project accounting, materials management, payroll and human resources, electronic timekeeping, and labor distribution. Deltek recently introduced Costpoint, a project accounting software for Windows. This product was developed because the firm recognized that COBOL-based computer programs were no longer responsive to the needs of customers. According to deLaski, Costpoint is ideal for businesses that have project accounting and perform cost allocation extensively.

Deltek's costpoint
Article Abstract:
Environmental consultant and contractor Industrial Marine Service Inc. (IMS) selected Deltek Systems Inc.'s Costpoint Project Accounting Software when it decided that it needed to replace its existing system. The company decided to find a new accounting system after realizing that its old one was severely limited in its reporting capabilities and accounting functions, its software and hardware technology, and the available support. Aside from the fact that the new system is a state-of-the-art accounting system, IMS management chose Deltek's Costpoint because it was assured of software support from its developer. IMS selected Costpoint even when the software was still in its beta testing phase and had not yet been issued to the public because Deltek had a great reputation in the accounting software market.
