The advent of the year 2000 was expected to be the subject of many advertising campaigns, but Australian companies have been less than enthusiastic. One of the few sectors to capitalize on the new millennium is the alcoholic beverage industry since it is certain that Australians will buy large quantities for their celebrations. Overall however, millennium marketing did not live up to expectations.
