The Chinese Government is committed to transforming the planned economy into a market economy. It is felt that this transformation is bound to affect the banks and the capital markets wherein the Chinese government has to restore the solvency of banks, slow unproductive flows to unproductive and risky enterprises, develop capital markets and revalue the currency.
