Ciba will join with Clariant
Article Abstract:
Ciba Specialty Chemicals AG of Switzerland is merging with Clariant AG of Switzerland via a stock swap transaction valued at $6.2 billion to create the largest specialty chemical and dye manufacturer in the world. The merger will probably trim their combined laborforces by 5% or around 3,000 positions throughout the world as the new company will attempt to reap $444 million in savings per year. The merger partners plan to name their new firm Clariant whose president will be current Clariant president Rolf Schweizer.

Article Abstract:
It is estimated that family businesses with an estimated A$607 billion will change hands within the next 10 years. Ironically, there is a dearth or entrepreneurship among the Baby Boom generation.
