The attempts of Ernst & Young, PKF Australia, PricewaterhouseCoopers in this direction are discussed in light of the fact that private companies are contemplating switching to mid-tier accounting firms for superior services.

Survey results showed many weaknesses in the financial planning and investment advice of a sampling of Australian accountants. The biggest problem in the financial plans was ignoring the needs and goals of the client.
