Clinton, cabinet campaign for economic plan support

Pres Clinton and his cabinet Feb 18-23, 1993, lobbied for for Congressional support for his economic program. Clinton hopes to stimulate the economy while reducing the federal deficit at the same time. Although the plan appears to have widespread popular support, most Republican legislators oppose it.

Clinton, Fed plan to ease lending rates

Pres Clinton and Federal Reserve Board Chmn Alan Greenspan reported on Feb 23, 1993, that they were working on a plan to eliminate certain federal laws that discourage financial institutions from approving small-business loans. Clinton had previously stated his desire to review lending laws.

Clinton stumps for economic agenda
Article Abstract:
Pres Bill Clinton scheduled five campaign tours in different states to gain support for his economic plan on May 10-13, 1993, and May 17-18, 1993. Clinton also proposed placing tax revenues and savings into a fund directed toward reducing the deficit.
