Pres Clinton suggested that corporations become more responsive to the needs of employees to allay their fears about lack of job security or lack of benefits. The recommendation stems from the attention given the fears by presidential candidate Pat Buchanan and improved corporate profits.

Affirmative action, immigration backed

U.S. approves Pakistan arms delivery

Pres Clinton authorized the release of a military equipment shipment worth $368 million to Pakistan in Apr 1996. Concerns about Pakistan's nuclear weapons program stalled the shipment. Pakistan will also receive a refund for arms purchased but not manufactured.
