Coles close to shell deal

Coles Myer is close to announcing a deal with Shell Australia to move into the petrol discounting and convenience store business. Cole Myer's negotiations with Shell have taken so long because it has to deal with Shell and its individual franchisees and this has not been easy because each franchisee knows that failure to reach agreement with any one of them would be a deal stopper.

The gas gold rush

The surge in oil prices has everybody scouting for alternative fuel sources, which is the reason that natural gas is now basking on its newfound glory. Australian gas companies are rushing to build new Liquified Natural Gas processing units and infrastructure. The prices of LNG have also been rising.

Gorgon's new attraction

The unprecedented rise in oil and liquefied natural gas prices has brought back the focus on the Gorgon gas field off the northwest coast of Western Australia. The economic necessity has pushed back the drawbacks related to the project. The planning and feasibility of the project are discussed.
