International Business Machines Corp. (IBM) is planning to introduce a new method for securely transmitting data through the Internet. This new method will provide greater security for global network transactions. The new method is designed to deal with a possible weakness in Web site encryption systems. These encryption systems protect credit card numbers and other personal information while they are being transmitted over the Internet.
