Conference report: Third International Product Development Conference
Article Abstract:
Keynote speaker Martine Lapiere of Alcatel discussed her company's approach to technology management during the Third International Product Development Conference. Lapiere claimed that organizations who cannot adapt to fast-paced technological changes are likely to be unsuccessful. Other discussions involved a broad range of product development topics including technology and innovation strategies, relationships with customers and suppliers, new product development processes and systems, manufacturing issues, interface management and leadership, globalization and uncertainty.

Article Abstract:
Globalization has led many major national firms to engage in domestic merger-and-acquisition activities then subsequently resort to international strategic alliances. However, such international partnerships eventually evolve into international acquisitions which involve either an alliance partner or a third party. A study investigated the strategic and technological implications of international business alliances by focusing on the case studies of ICL Ltd and Rover Group Ltd.
