Theory, practice, and empirical development contributions: Advances in Business Marketing and Purchasing
Article Abstract:
The Advances in Business Marketing and Purchasing has had a significant impact in business marketing research, both in theory and practice, over the past 10 years. The articles which appeared in the journal's six volumes are evaluated based on their significance relative to business applications and other journals' articles. A total of 22 articles are selected according to their effect on previous and present research, and then categorized as either theoretical or practical contributions.

The Journal of Business-to-Business Marketing (JBBM) covered five general topics from its inception until 1995. The topics were organizational buying behavior; buyer-seller dyad; relationships and networks; measurement, demand assessment, and segmentation; and marketing mix. JBBM's important articles are summarized following the outline of business marketing management: statement of the problem, theoretical background, methodology, findings and contributions.
