Punctuated and continuous change: the UK water industry
Article Abstract:
The differences between punctuated and continuous change in the UK water industry are analyzed. Following privatization, the ten leading firms all faced the same environmental pressures to adjust but applied different approaches. Results show that the response to privatization was not always punctuated. Further, in contrast to previous studies, it is observed that punctuated change processes were not necessarily superior to continuous change.
