A New York resident finds that Martha's Vineyard is home because that is where her heart is. The visits the Vineyard almost every year since she was 4, and she is soon to be a grandparent. The prelude to trips to the Vineyard are maddening, but that madness is erased during the ferry ride.

Internet-brain transplants may be only 25 years away, because of advances in miniaturization, robotics, genetic engineering, biology and computer science. Speculation on uses for electronic transplants, such as computerized cameras for the blind, and the ethical aspects, are discussed.

The railroad industry is concerned over the construction of coal-slurry pipelines. The pros and cons of slurry pipelines are presented. Procrastination and rising costs may prevent coal-slurry pipelines from being built in direct competition with the railroads.
