Zeneca sues Eli Lilly over Evista promotion
Article Abstract:
Zeneca Group PLC has filed suit against Eli Lilly & Co. in federal court over Lilly's marketing of Evista, its drug that has FDA approval for treating osteoporosis only, not breast cancer. Lilly sales reps allegedly promote only safety data when telling physicians about its MORE trial in which Evista appeared to have similar effects on breast cancer as Zeneca's Nolvadex but without as many side effects.

Article Abstract:
The maker of $3-billion-a-year Prozac, Eli Lilly & Co. has won the right to keep making and selling the anti-depressant for another one to two years by settling for a mere $4 million. The settlement gives the Indiana-based firm time to develop a different anti-depressant and to keep working on other drugs to keep the revenue stream flowing.
