Environmental munificence: a theoretical assessment
Article Abstract:
Two research limitations pertaining to environmental munificence-organization relationships are examined: (a) overabstraction, which exists when environment is defined too broadly, resulting in inappropriate aggregation of disparate environmental units and (b) conceptual ambiguity, which exists when researchers use different labels to describe similar munificence constructs and similar labels to describe different constructs. These limitations are clarified, and measurement suggestions, along with other research implications, are discussed. (Reprinted by permission of the publisher.)

Business risk and return: a test of simultaneous relationships
Article Abstract:
A simultaneous equation model that tests the negative relationship between the accounting measures of risk and financial return is presented. The risk-return relationship is tested with a sample of 132 non-diversified firms from eight different industries. The model proves that the return-risk relationship is influenced by business strategies, such as productivity and capital intensity, and by industry conditions, such as barriers to entry.
