Equipment at Work: Law Firm's Machines 'Talk' to Each Other

A communications system has been installed by a large Sydney, Australia law firm consisting of two Wordplex seven processing units and software, a Hendrix Typereader-two OCR (optical character reader), and forty word processor terminals. Typewritten messages are read by the OCR into the system for editing and then sent directly to TELEX. Documents may be sent overseas by satellite.

Equipment at Work: Micro Among the Models
Article Abstract:
Cameron's Management, an agency for models, has installed the ABC-26 computer and software from O'Reilly Computer. The system is used to keep the accounts of and produce detailed invoices for the agency's models. The agency also handles theater and film personnel who require a separate system of staggered payments. In addition, the system does routine general ledger tasks.
