Datacraft of Melbourne markets communications systems for mainframe and minicomputer systems. Their products are designed to ensure high network performance. Among these products are the Micro 800 data-concentrators, Code processors, and 168Kbps modems. Intelligent Matrix Switching and Port Selectors allow electronic on-off connections which respond to commands from the terminal or console. Fallback switching allows the automatic change-over from one CPU to another. Wide band multiplexors and voice digitizers make possible the transportation of voice and data together.

Equipment at Work: A Wordy Business with a Lot of Dictating Power
Article Abstract:
The Lanier dictating system used in an Australian law firm, provides each of 107 solicitors and administrative assistants a phone connection to a central recording system consisting of twenty-four Lanier Tel-Edisette recorders. Operators process the material, recorded on cassettes, at sixteen word processing workstations which hold sixty-seven megabytes of storage. Document forms are stored in memory. Savings of $500,000 a year are estimated.
