The Asian financial crisis is likely to hurt exporters but may benefit importers. Exporters, hit by cancellations, are busily identifying other business strategies such as market diversification, price adjustments and product innovation. Importers, however, will likely see a huge influx of Asian products, as the region's own consumer demand decreases.
