A glimpse at the trends in Australia's exports is presented. Recently, the earnings from exports have increased, even though the volumes have remained the same. However, exports are expected to grow in 2006, 2007, and 2008.

The global short-term interest rates moved still lower in mid-2003. The Central banks lowered the rates worried that two years of incredibly cheap money had not improved prospects in the main engines of the global economy.
