Fillip with surprises

The world economy is strengthening as the US economy has exceeded expectations, Germany has greater business confidence, China has overcome SARS scare and Japan is expanding. The two surprises that would result in the global recovery of 2004 are resurgence across the large economies in capital outlays by business and a synchronised upswing across each of the big economies.

The falling interest rates in the United States are found to cause problems, as the opportunity to use monetary policy to boost the economy and create jobs is negligible. Although the US market indicates an uptrend the US S&P500 chart shows a bearish market that may reveal the nearing of an end to the uptrend.
