Fix water costs, then fix salinity
Article Abstract:
It is vital that a broad perspective is take when considering solutions to the growing salinity of Australia's Murray river. Issues that must be addressed include the clearing of land, the market for water rights in the Murray-Darling basin and the causes of salinity. It is suggested that it is possible to fix the market for water rights to deal with salinity.

Climate change at a cost

Climate change is important, but the Kyoto Protocol adopted by many countries in 1997 to deal with this has not been implemented in 2001 because of differences. An approach which is effective on all fronts and acceptable to all is needed.
