Former House postmaster admits embezzlement

Rota, the House postmaster from 1972 to 1992, pleaded guilty to charges of embezzlement and conspiracy on Jul 19, 1993. Rota gave two congressmen more than $30,000 for political favors. House and Ways Committee Chmn Rostenkowski is being investigated for his role in the scandal.
