TWA files for bankruptcy
Article Abstract:
Trans World Airlines, on Jan 31, 1992, filed for bankruptcy after reportedly reaching agreements on a restructuring plan with most of its key creditors. The filing made TWA the sixth of the 12 largest US airlines to resort to bankruptcy in the previous year.

American Air restructures fares
Article Abstract:
American Airlines announced that it would adopt a four-tier fare structure and reduce fares starting Apr 13, 1992. The new structure replaced the old 16-tier system. Most major air carriers indicated that they would follow American's strategy.

TWA, unions agree on equity pact
Article Abstract:
TWA, the Air Line Pilots Assn and the International Assn of Machinists agreed on a recapitalization plan for TWA. The two unions, along with the Independent Federation of Flight Attendants, would obtain a 45% equity stake in the airline.
