Andrew Grove, a co-founder of microprocessor manufacturer Intel Corporation, shares his views on competitiveness. He explains that strategic inflection points represent the result of a major change in a competitive environment and that various tools can be used in determining such a point. Grove also believes in the Christensen thesis which states that what matters in business changes is the effectiveness of the approach and the satisfaction that it could give to the market demand.

Coping with hypercompetition: utilizing the new 7S's framework

Traditional sources of market advantage such as economies of scale, superior advertising and substantial funding are no longer enough to make a firm secure in its market niche due to hypercompetition. Hypercompetition has raised the level of market dynamics such that firms face constant disequilibrium and change. Firms must adapt accordingly based on the dynamic strategy of the new 7S framework, which includes superior shareholder satisfaction and shifting rules of the game.

Middle East competitiveness in the 21st century's global market

A report has concluded that most countries in the Middle East have poor economic conditions although they have the potential for international competitiveness. Israel is seen as the most prepared for emerging markets while Turkey, Morocco, Jordan, and Egypt are leading the move toward business investments. The region is acknowledged for its potentials for competitiveness due to its richness in natural resources and labor forces and its strategic geographic location.
