Going home

Article Abstract:

The author's birthplace, Belfast occupies his life only as part of his memory of childhood and youth. When he returned to the western part of Ireland for a holiday a few years ago, he discovered the gravestone of Bulmer Hobson. Hobson had been committed to achieving Irish independence through non-violent action. His simple gravestone conjured up many memories of the author's past. He realized then that, after he died, he wanted to be buried in the same peaceful graveyard of Connemara.
