South African-born Ivan Hammerschlag has built four companies in Australia, starting with the Freedom Furniture chain, and continuing with Furniture Fair, Divergent Technologies, and SE Timber Floors. Hammerschlag believes that the secret to his success is that he always creates a list of "natural buyers" for the products manufactured by the company he has bought or created, and then he focuses his efforts on those buyers.
