To make the most effective use of computer technology for businesses, Mr. John W. Perry, corporate vice president of Burroughs Corportion, advises organizations first to do a good analysis of the business. Long range planning must precede the actual implementation of the technology. MIS departments must integrate proliferating microcomputers into the system. Mr. Perry points out forthcoming advances in technology including increased satellite transmission, greater semi-conductor density and storage capacity through fiber optics.

Laser Printer For CAS

A Xerox 9700 Electronic Printing System using the most advanced digitally controlled technology has been installed at Computer Accounting Services in Sydney. The $400,000 system prints at speeds up to two pages per second. The NCR 9700 can reproduce good quality illustrations and logos and will be used for short run phototype setting services or for volumes too large for line printers.
